CIS Inspection System
Turn Every Inspection Into Real-Time Quality Intelligence
CIS Advanced Inspection brings incoming, in-process, final and first article inspection together with revision-controlled criteria, automatic sample generation, real-time results, supplier performance, control charts and quality KPIs.
A major CIS 2026 advancement
Inspection is now much more than recording pass or fail
Advanced Inspection was built around the information quality managers need after the inspection as well as during it. CIS captures the inspection results and immediately makes the same data available for analysis, trends, supplier monitoring and management reporting.
Incoming inspection
Inspect purchased products and supplier material while keeping results connected to the supplier and product.
In-process inspection
Build inspection requirements into production stages and capture results while work is being performed.
Final inspection
Verify finished product against established requirements before release or shipment.
First Article control
Maintain revision-controlled inspection criteria so changes to the product’s inspection requirements remain traceable.
Inspection starts with the product
Establish the quality requirements before the inspection begins
Advanced Inspection is driven from the CIS Product Database. Define what must be inspected for each product and CIS presents those requirements whenever that product is selected.
- Incoming, in-process and final inspection requirements.
- Inspection criteria and characteristics.
- Units of measurement.
- Minimum and maximum tolerances.
- Percentage-based inspection quantities.
- Process and inspection-stage requirements.
First Article & revision control
Know which inspection requirements were in effect
CIS maintains revision control over a product’s inspection criteria. When inspection information is changed or additional inspections are added, CIS updates the inspection revision status and keeps the revision history available for the product.
Controlled inspection planning
Inspection criteria can evolve without losing their history
This is particularly important for First Article and changing product requirements. The current inspection plan remains connected to the product while previous inspection-criteria revisions remain traceable.
- Inspection criteria revision history.
- Automatic revision-status changes.
- New criteria can be added as products evolve.
- Past inspection requirements remain traceable.
Automatic inspection generation
CIS builds the inspection from the product requirements
Select the part and the applicable inspection criteria appear. Enter the batch quantity and CIS determines how many result entries are required from the inspection percentage established for that product.
Select the inspection
Choose incoming, in-process or final inspection and identify the product being inspected.
Enter the batch
Record the batch quantity and batch number for the applicable inspection criteria.
CIS calculates the samples
The required number of result fields is generated automatically from the inspection percentage and batch quantity.
Perform the inspection
Enter the actual inspection results against the criteria already defined for the product.
Real-time inspection execution
Give inspectors the information they need while the work is in front of them
The inspection screen brings the required criteria and result fields together so inspectors can record measurements without rebuilding the inspection from paper, spreadsheets or memory.
- Results entered against each required inspection.
- Sample fields generated from actual batch quantity.
- Detailed measurement values where required.
- Simple acceptance methods where appropriate.
- Supporting inspection documents available to the inspector.
CIS can also be customized for direct measurement input from compatible tools such as digital calipers or gauges.
Incoming inspection
Connect receiving inspection directly to supplier quality
Incoming inspection records are linked to the supplier and product, allowing CIS to use receiving results as management information instead of leaving them buried in individual inspection records.
Supplier communication
Capture the result and keep the supplier relationship connected
Incoming inspection can record batch quantities, inspection results, disposition, inspection cost and comments. CIS can also send the supplier an e-mail using the applicable template when required.
- Supplier and product identification.
- Batch quantity and batch number.
- Inspection results.
- Disposition and inspection code.
- Inspection cost.
- Supplier e-mail communication.
Advanced Inspection KPIs
The inspection data becomes management information automatically
CIS 2026 adds a substantial reporting and graphing system specifically for Advanced Inspection. Reports can be filtered to isolate the products, suppliers, customers, inspection types and time periods you need to understand.
Ask better quality questions
Move from “Did it pass?” to “What is our inspection data telling us?”
Because inspection results are structured and reportable, management can look beyond individual records and investigate the patterns behind quality performance.
Live shop-floor visibility
Put current quality performance where the operation can see it
CIS quality graphs can be used as live operational displays so current performance and developing trends are visible beyond the quality office.
- Display inspection graphs on shop-floor screens.
- Cycle between selected quality graphs.
- Give production personnel immediate visibility.
- Make quality trends part of everyday operations.
Advanced Inspection for CIS 2026
Inspect the product once. Use the data throughout your quality system.
CIS Advanced Inspection connects product requirements, First Article revision control, Incoming, In-Process and Final inspection with real-time KPI analysis. The result is not simply an electronic inspection form – it is a quality information system built around your actual products and processes.
